Rosleskhoz: processing of forests from insect pests has begun in Russia

The Volgograd region became the first region of the country where measures to eliminate foci of harmful organisms began in 2024. In total, in 2024, it is planned to treat forests from insect pests in nine forest areas on a total area of 10 thousand hectares in the region. 

"Work on the elimination of foci of harmful organisms in the Volgograd region began on April 22. To date, 2.8 thousand hectares have already been processed. The processing of forests is carried out with the help of aviation, a drug safe for humans and animals that has passed all necessary checks and examinations," said the head of the Department of Reproduction and Protection of Forests of the Federal Forestry Agency Elena Busygina.

Recall that the elimination of foci of harmful organisms in 2024 is planned in 18 subjects on a total area of more than 250 thousand hectares. The main volumes of measures for pest control of forests will be held in the second and third quarters of 2024.
