Beltransgaz further negotiates with Gazprom on Russia's gas deliveries.

Beltransgaz proceeds with negotiating with Gazprom on deliveries of Russia's gas. Such issue has been considered over today's meeting of Gazprom Board Chairman Alexei Miller with Beltransgaz General Director Pyotr Petukh.

Gazprom broke off gas deliveries to Belarus on Jan. 1, 2004. All gas currently consumed by Belarus is delivered by independent gas suppliers - Itera and Trans Nafta. Under the present contract, Belarus will have enough gas to last till Feb. 18, 2004.

A source with Gazprom said the today's meeting was fruitless as P. Petukh repeated the statement made by Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko. A. Lukashenko had said Belarus was not intending to sell Beltransgaz at the balance value and was not willing to buy gas at $50 per 1,000 cub. m. insisting on prices used inside Russia.
