ÎÀÎ Gazprom is eager to obtain over 10 percent of American market of liquified natural gas by 2010, deputy chairman of the natural gas monopoly Alexander Medvedev said in interview to International Herald Tribune.

"Our purpose is to receive more than 10 percent of LNG American market by 2010 with the further increase up to 20 percent", - he told. Three western companies which will take part in the Shtokman project, are to promote this purpose.

The resource base for LNG deliveries in the USA will be Shtokman deposit. Among the candidates to participate in the project are Norwegian Hydro and Statoil, American Chevron, ConocoPhillips, French Total.
