In January-September 2006, Svyatogor OJSC (Sverdlovsk Region), from the Ural Mining and Metallurgical Company OJSC (UMMC), produced 50.639 th tons of blister copper, which is 2% more y-o-y, the UMMC says.
Turnout of copper in copper concentrate and of brick remained at the last year level - 19.990 th tons and 7.519 mln correspondingly. Turnout of road metal grew by 6.4% to 428.280 th cubic meters. Svyatogor upped ore production by 4.2% to 639 th tons. The Company forecasts that this year its turnout of blister copper will increase by 2% to 69 th tons.
Svyatogor has been part of the UMMC structure since 2000. It produces blister copper, zinc concentrate, iron-vanadium concentrate, sulphuric acid, road metal, building brick.
The UMMC comprises 40 enterprises located in 10 regions of Russia. The Company controls some 40% of the domestic cathode copper production, 25% of the domestic rolled non-ferrous metals market, and above 50% of the European copper powder market. In 2005, the UMMC's proceeds totaled RUB 14.38 bn. Sales of products grew by 33% to RUB 97.09 bn.
