VympelCom is going to use 0.6% (300ths) common stocks worth $120.24mln to launch the option program; the company informed.

In Apr. 2007 BOD authorized VC ESOP N.V. (VC ESOP) affiliated with operator to buy back 1.6mln ADSs or 400ths common stocks (0.8% of total amount).

The stocks will be used to realize the program to award the top managers of the cellular operator.

800ths ADS were bought back at $101.29 or $81mln in total.
The Company is ranked as the second cellular operator in Russia by the volume of services. The major holders involve Telenor (29.9%) and Alfa Group (44%), remained stocks being under circulation on NYSE. 51281022 common and 6426600 preferred stocks were released in total; preferred being held by Alfa.

The IQ net profit (US GAAP) rose 84.6% to come to $277.3mln; revenues - 59% to $1.488bn; OIBDA increased 58.8% to $766.417mln from $482.607mln.
