Glencore International plc. acquired a number of assets at the port of Taman from EFKO Group, Glencore informed.
It will be recalled that in July 2012, EFKO Group was reported as selling its stevedoring assets at the port of Taman to Glencore's subsidiary International Grain Company and the Ukrainian trader Kernel.
EFKO Group is a vertically-integrated Russian manufacturer of vegetable oils, food components and branded foodstuffs. The company leads in the market of food components used in confectionery, baking and other food-processing segments. EFKO is also one of leading manufacturers of mayonnaise and vegetable oil in Russia including goods under well-known brands such as Sloboda and Altero. The Group's strategy is to achieve a profitable organic growth, to strengthen its market position and to expand geographically.
EFKO includes production complexes: OJSC EFKO (tax number: 3122000300) producing crude and refined sunflower oils and mayonnaise products and EFKO Food Ingredients LLC (tax number: 3662065051) producing special-purpose fats and margarine. Both enterprises are located in Alexeyevka (Belgorod region).
