Nomos-Bank acquired the 24.17% stake in Otkritie Bank from Otkritie FC which had earlier acquired it from Russia's Deposit Insurance Agency. The transaction amounted to RUB 7.915 billion, Nomos-Bank informed.
This purchase has increased Nomos-Bank's interest (both direct and indirect) in Otkritie Bank to 41.17%.
"The acquisition of this stake is an important part of Otkritie FC's strategy of integrating its banking business with NOMOS-BANK, which as the banking group's parent company, will hold controlling interests in Otkritie Bank and the Bank of Khanty-Mansiysk," the statement points out.
Otkritie FC acquired the Deposit Insurance Agency's 24.17% stake in Otkritie Bank for RUB 7.915 billion after winning the DIA's auction in late September 2013.
Also, Bank Petrocommerce will join Otkritie FC's banking group as a new member before the end of 2014. The banking group will then operate over RUB 1.5 trillion in assets, becoming Russia's largest privately held banking group.
Nomos-Bank (tax number: 7706092528) is a universal network bank, one of the 30 largest banks of Russia. Its authorized capital is RUB 5.226 billion. FC Otkritie is the bank's controlling shareholder (51%), while ICT Group owns a 25.66% stake.
IFRS net profit of Nomos-Bank for 2012 increased by 23.7% to RUB 15.015 billion. Income from operations increased by 21.5% to RUB 44.7 billion. Consolidated assets of the group (IFRS) as of March 31, 2013 amounted to RUB 929.4 billion, equity capital was RUB 94.8 billion.
