Subsistence wage in Russia up 0.8% to RUB 7.429 thousand in Q3 2013

The Government of the Russian Federation increased the subsistence wage for Q3 2013 by 0.8% to RUB 7.429 thousand, according to a resolution signed by Russia's Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev.

The subsistence wage is set equal to RUB 8.014 thousand for the working-age population, RUB 6.097 thousand for pensioners, RUB 7.105 thousand for children.

According to the Federal State Statistics Service, consumer prices in Q3 2013 grew by 1.5% against the previous quarter.

The subsistence wage is required for estimating the living standard of Russia's population factored in when developing and implementing the social policy and federal social programs, for substantiating the federal minimum wage ratge, student grants, subsidies and other social payments, and for budgeting purposes
