Ministry of Economic Development lowered its February price growth forecast in Russia to 0.5-0.6%

The Ministry of Economic Development expects the rate of inflation to be 0.5-0.6% in February, 7.2-7.3% in 2013, against 0.4% in February 2012, the Ministry of Economic Development informed.

One week ago, on February 11, the Ministry forecasted consumer prices to grow 0.6-0.7% in February, 7.3-7.4% in 2013.

Food prices for two weeks in February advanced by 0.4% on average (0.2% for the past week). For reference, food prices rose by 0.4% every week in January, 1.8% for the whole month).

In the segment of non-foods products dependent on imports (limited monitoring), a significant price growth over the period from January 29 to February 11 was observed for domestic motor cars (+1%), foreign motor cars (+0.2%), washing powders (+0.3%).

In February, gasoline prices continued to go up (+0.5% for two weeks in February, +0.6% in January). In the past week alone, gasoline prices rose by 0.2% on average
