The Board of Directors of OJSC Mobile Telesystems (MTS) approved 9 nominees to the Board of Directors to be elected at the company's extraordinary general meeting due February 14, 2013, the company informed.
The list of candidates is as follows: Anton Abugov (First Vice President, Head of Strategy and Development functional division, JSFC Sistema); Alexey Buyanov (Senior Vice President, Head of Financial functional division, JSFC Sistema); Andrei Dubovskov (President and Chief Executive Officer of MTS); Alexander Gorbunov (Executive Vice-President (Investment Portfolio), JSFC Sistema); Vsevolod Rozanov (President and Chief Executive Officer of Sistema Shyam TeleServices Ltd.); Ron Sommer (Board Director of Munich Reinsurance and Tata Consultancy Services, a member of the International Advisory Board of Blackstone Group, Chairman of the Board of Sistema Shyam TeleServices Ltd.), as well as three independent candidates (Michel Combes, Thomas Holtrop, Stanley Miller)
OJSC Mobile TeleSystems (MTS, tax number: 7740000076) and its subsidiaries provide services to more than 100 million subscribers in Russia, Armenia, Belarus, Ukraine and Turkmenistan. The company also provides fixed-line telephony and cable television services in all federal districts of Russia and in Ukraine.

Consolidated net profit of MTS Group as per US GAAP for Q3 2012 rose by 74.1% to $630.007 million from $361.84 million for the same period in 2011. Consolidated revenue decreased by 4.4% to $3.132 billion from $3.275 billion. Adjusted OIBDA of MTS group decreased by 4.2% to $1.379 billion from $1.44 billion. OIBDA margin was 44% matching the Q3 2011 result.
According to the information and retrieval system DataCapital, net profit (RAS) of MTS for 9 months 2012 decreased by 20.5% to RUB 38.12 billion from RUB 47.92 billion for the same period in 2011. Revenue increased by 10.4% to RUB 201.287 billion from RUB 182.371 billion.
