Vimpelcom does not rule out possible expansion in Canada, the Vedomosti reported.
Vimpelcom Ltd. sees "interesting business development opportunities" in Canada, said VimpelCom CEO Jo Lunder adding that the company may consider acquisitions to expand in Canada.
Vimpelcom has been present in Canada's market since 2008, its subsidiary Orascom Telecom Holding (OTH) holding 32% of the voting shares in Globalive Wireless operating under the Wind Mobile brand. However, 93% of Canada's mobile users are the customers of three incumbent operators: Rogers serve, Telus Mobility and Bell Mobility.

Telenor holds 42.95%, Altimo owns 47.85% of VimpelCom's voting shares.
Net profit (IFRS) of VimpelCom for Q3 2012 increased 2.85-fold to $538 million from $189 million for the same period in 2011. Revenue decreased by 6% to $5.747 billion from $6.096 billion. EBITDA decreased by 2% to $2.53 billion from $2.572 billion, EBITDA margin increased to 44% from 42.2%.
