M&A: FAS granted application of SDS-Ugol for acquisition of Prokopgiprougol

Russia's Federal Antimonopoly Service granted the application of OJSC Holding Company SDS-Ugol for the acquisition of 100% in Prokopgiprougol LLC (Prokopyevsk, Kemerovo region), the regulatory body informed.

OJSC Holding Company SDS-Ugol was established in 2006 as a branch holding of CJSC Sibirskiy Delovoy Soyuz (English: Siberian Business Union) to ensure efficient extraction and processing of coal subject to industrial safety requirements.

Holding SDS-Ugol is one of the three industry leaders in Kuzbass. The coal enterprises of the company produce high-quality mineral coal and brown coal from open-cut mining and underground mining works. The company is one of the largest coal exporters (exporting more than 60% of its goods).
