As of March 5, 2013, the catch of aquatic bioresources by Russian fishing companies since the start of the year increased by 1.8% year-on-year to 855.4 thousand tonnes, the Federal Agency for Fishery (Rosrybolovstvo) informed.
In the Far East Basin, the catch of aquatic bioresources dropped by 2.1 thousand tonnes to 618 thousand tonnes; in the Northern Basin, the catch decreased by 5.1 thousand tonnes to 138.2 thousand tonnes.
The catch rose by 0.1 thousand tonnes to 8.6 thousand tonnes in the Baltic Sea, by 4.2 thousand tonnes to 10.2 thousand tonnes in the Azov–Black Sea Basin, by 0.3 thousand tonnes to 0.5 thousand tonnes in the Caspian Basin.
Catch in other countries' waters under fishing quotas was 68.1 thousand tonnes (+11.9 thousand tonnes year-on-year)
