As of March 1, 2012, the monetary base in Russia (broad definition) increased by 1% against February 1 to RUB 8.51 trillion, the Central Bank of Russia informed.
In particular, currency issued increased by 0.77% to RUB 7.068 trillion, correspondent account balances of credit institutions with the Bank of Russia by 0.4% to RUB 816.5 billion, credit institutions' required reserves by 1.3% to RUB 446.7 billion, balances of credit institutions' deposit accounts with the Bank of Russia by 11.9% to RUB 175.8 billion. Amount of the Bank of Russia bonds (OBRs) held by credit institutions was 0.
