Unemployment rate in Russia down to 5.8 in February from 6% in January

In February 2013, the number of unemployed people in Russia decreased by 3.1% month-on-month to 4.337 million, the Federal State Statistics Service informed.

The unemployment rate (under the ILO standards) decreased to 5.8% of the economically active population in February from 6% in January.

1.1 million people were officially registered at the state employment service as unemployed. Among them, 0.9 million received unemployment benefits.

Economically active population totaled 75.3 million (53%) in January.
