M&A: Switzerland-based UBS AG buys 7.91% of Kaluga Sales Company

On March 28, UBS AG (Switzerland) acquired a 7.91% equity stake in OJSC Kaluga Sales Company, the sales company informed.

Prior to this deal, UBS AG had no equity stake in the Kaluga-based company.

OJSC Kaluga Sales Company (tax number: 4029030252) is a last resort power supplier in Kaluga region. The enterprise was established on April 1, 2004 through a spin-off from the restructured OJSC Kalugaenergo. The company is principally engaged in the purchase of power in the wholesale and retail market and its sale to consumers.

According to the DataCapital information retrieval system, RAS net profit of Kaluga Sales Company for 2013 decreased by 20.09% to RUB 70.001 million from RUB 87.595 million the year before. Revenue increased by 13.91% to RUB 13.998 billion from RUB 12.289 billion, sales profit by 25.95% to RUB 279.937 million from RUB 222.258 million, pre-tax profit decreased by 17.7% to RUB 87.894 million from RUB 106.803 million.
