Russia's Federal Antimonopoly Service granted the application of JSC Bashkirian Chemistry for operating as a sole executive body for Bashkir soda company JSC, the regulatory body informed.
In 2013, the share of Bashkir soda company in Russia's sodium carbonate market exceeded 35%, the aggregate stake of Bashkirian Chemistry's group exceeding 50%, which means that Bashkirian Chemistry may restrict competition in this market under certain conditions.
Subject to the Competition Law, the competition authority decided to issue an order for Bashkirian Chemistry to take measures so as to ensure due competition in Russia's sodium carbonate market.
Bashkir soda company JSC (Sterlitamak, Republic of Bashkortostan) is principally engaged in the production of basic inorganic substances, industrial gases, plastics and synthetic resins in primary forms, other organic and non-organic chemicals.
JSC Bashkirian Chemistry is a Russian holding company managing the Kaustik and Soda enterprises in Sterlitamak (Republic of Bashkortostan) OJSC Bereznikovsky Sodovy Zavod (Berezniki, Perm Krai) as well as transport company JSC Transneftekhim (Moscow). RAS net profit of JSC Bashkirian Chemistry for 2012 fell by 87% to RUB 372 million. Revenue grew by 17% to RUB 7.683 billion from RUB 6.563 billion.
