M2 money supply in Russia up 14.6% in 2013

As of January 1, 2014, the M2 money supply in the national definition in Russia reached RUB 31.405 trillion increasing by 7.7% in December 2013, by 14.6% in 2013, the Central Bank of Russia informed.

Cash in circulation outside the banking system (M0 money supply) increased by 6.4% in December, by 8.6% in 2013 reaching RUB 6.986 trillion.

The M1 money supply was RUB 15.537 trillion increasing by 10.25% in December, by 13% in 2013.

M1 is defined as total cash in circulation (outside banks) and balances in the domestic currency on current and other demand accounts of nonfinancial organizations, financial institutions (except for credit ones) and households.

M2 is defined as M1 Monetary Aggregate and balances in the domestic currency on time deposits of nonfinancial organizations, financial institutions (except for credit ones) and households.
