In January 2014, electric power generation in the Russian Federation decreased by 3.5% year-on-year, increased by 0.9% month-on-month to 101 billion kWh, Russia's Federal State Statistics Service informed.
Electric power generation by nuclear power plants dropped by 6.4% year-on-year, 9.1% month-on-month to 16 billion kWh.
Generation by thermal power plants decreased by 4.2% year-on-year, increased by 3.9% month-on-month to 70.2 billion kWh.
Generation by hydroelectric power plants increased by 3.7% year-on-year, decreased by 0.8% month-on-month to 14.6 billion kWh.
