According to preliminary data, freight handling across the railway network of JSC Russian Railways for January-February increased by 0.3% year-on-year to 189.5 million tonnes, the company informed.
Freight turnover increased by 5.9% to 362.6 billion tariff tonne-kilometers, freight turnover with empty runs factored in by 7.5% to 470.4 billion tonne-kilometers.
In February 2014 alone, the company's freight hanlding decreased by 0.6% to 93.3 million tonnes. Freight turnover went up 4.4% to 171.3 billion tariff tonne-kilometers, freight turnover with empty runs factored in by 5.7% to 222.6 billion.
