PPF Group denies any speculations regarding its alleged acquisition of TV NOVA, the company informed.
"PPF Group objects to the misleading speculative statements published in today's MF DNES daily that PPF is allegedly in talks on the acquisition of Central European Media Enterprise (CME) and its TV NOVA subsidiary. This report is categorically untrue; PPF Group has not and is not negotiating the purchase of CME or TV Nova. MF DNES daily has been officially notified in this regard by PPF Group but nonetheless published the story. We will continue to challenge any involvement of PPF’s name in the publication of misleading media statements which manipulate the share price of a listed company," the company emphasizes.
PPF Group is one of the largest investment and financial groups in Central and Eastern Europe. As of June 30, 2012, its assets amounted to EUR 17.6 billion. The group focuses on banking and insurance services, operations in the real estate, power, and mining sectors. Among its assets in Russia is chain store system Eldorado trading in electronics and home appliances. PPF Group is active in Central and Eastern Europe, Russia, and Asia.
At the end of 2012, PPF Group's total assets as per IFRS reached to EUR 21.5 billion, incomes amounted to EUR 5 billion, net profit increased to EUR 727 million from EUR 216 million.
