In January-June 2018, JSC Vostochny Port exported 12.3 million tonnes of high-quality coal exceeding the result achieved for the 6-month period in 2017 by 5%. This is an all-time record for the company, the press service of Vostochny Port informed.
161.4 thousand gondola cars with coal were unloaded at the port for this period. The percentage of innovative high-capacity gondola cars increased by 19 p.p. to 78% (125.6 thousand) from 59% (93.7 thousand) a year earlier.
In June alone, the port handled more than 27 thousand gondola cars, which is 2% above the June 2017 result.
In January-June, 288 dry bulk carriers of different load capacity were processed at the stevedoring company's wharfs, including 93 panamax vessels (32%), 28 capesize vessels (10%).
This year, coal was shipped to South Korea, Japan, Taiwan, China, Malaysia, India, Pakistan, Thailand, Vietnam, and Singapore. South Korea is the biggest importer of coal handled by Vostochny Port (36%).
JSC Vostochny Port (tax number: 2508001544) is the largest stevedoring company in Russia's Far East specializing in hard coal handling operations.
Stage 3 of the Coal Terminal, including the federal rail infrastructure, the largest investment project in Primorsky Krai, is being implemented at the port. The handling facilities of stage 3 will be commissioned in 2017 increasing the cargo turnover of Vostochny Port to 39 million tonnes by 2019. The whole projected throughput will be covered by Russian coal mined in Kuzbas and other Russian coal basins. The sole executive body of Vostochny Port is Port Management Company LLC.
The company's authorized capital is RUB 623.605 million. It consists of 2,125,462 common shares with a face value of RUB 250 and 368,958 preferred shares with a face value of RUB 250. The company's major shareholder is Eastern Stevedoring Holdings Limited holding a 84.571% equity stake. The remaining shares belong to individuals and legal entities.
In 2017, Vostochny Port exported 23.2 million tonnes of coal of various grades exceeding the target level.
