Russian airlines' 2-month passenger flow up 12.4% in 2018

In January-February 2018, according to preliminary data, the passenger flow of Russian airlines increased by 12.4% year-on-year to 14.318 million, Russia's Federal Air Transport Agency informed.

The passenger turnover for this period increased by 14.2% to 36.839 billion passenger-kilometers, the seat load factor by 1.7 p.p. to 79.6%, the revenue load factor by 2.1 p.p. to 67.5%.

Cargo and mail handling grew by 3.3% to 155,621 tonnes, the cargo turnover by 1.6% to 1.054 billion tonne-kilometers.

In particular, Aeroflot increased the 2-month passenger flow by 4.8% to 4.727 million, Siberia Airlines by 15.8% to 1.504 million, UTair by 18.3% to 1.128 million, Ural Airlines by 19.8% to 1.039 million, the passenger flow of Rossiya airlines decreased by 6.7% to 1.211 million.

In February 2018, the passenger flow of Russian companies grew by 10.4% to 6.735 million, the passenger turnover by 12.6% to 17.228 billion passenger-kilometers, cargo and mail handling decreased by 2.3% to 71.38 thousand tonnes.
