Since 2017, free taxi rides have been organized in the Moscow region for participants and invalids of the Great Patriotic War registered in the region, the total cost of trips per month should not exceed 1,000 rubles, and the number of trips is unlimited, the press service of the Ministry of Transport of the region reports.
"For 7 years, together with taxi companies, we have been implementing a program for free taxi rides for WWII participants and people with disabilities. A veteran can order a taxi on his own or ask for help in registering a relative or acquaintance. To do this, it is enough to call a single number 122 from a mobile phone, dial extension 5 and wait for the operator's response. When talking to the operator, it is necessary to give the veteran's last name, first name, patronymic, year of birth, car pickup address and the end point of the route," said Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Transport and Road Infrastructure of the Moscow region Alexey Gerzhik.
After placing an order, a confirmation message with the license plate, make and color of the taxi car will be sent to the veteran's mobile phone. The veteran may be accompanied by his relatives or representatives on the trip. This service is especially relevant on the eve of the May 9th holiday.
Calls are accepted from Monday to Saturday from 8.00 to 20.00. Only those participants and disabled people of the Great Patriotic War who are on the list of social protection authorities of the population of the Moscow region can take advantage of free taxi travel.
