A bill has been submitted to the State Duma eliminating the age limit for those wishing to sign a contract for military service. This is stated in the message of the State Duma.
Russians over forty and foreigners over thirty will be able to sign the first contract for military service. Today, the first contract for military service can be concluded by Russian citizens aged 18 to 40 years and foreigners aged 18 to 30 years.
"Highly professional specialists are needed for the use of high-precision weapons, the operation of weapons and military equipment. Experience shows that they become such by the age of 40-45," the explanatory note says.
