Starting from January 1, 2026, a point system for assessing the level of localization of production in the pharmaceutical industry will begin to operate in Russia. This was announced by the Russian government.
The main goal is to expand the range of pharmaceutical products manufactured in Russia, as well as to create additional incentives for the development of the industry and the development of promising technologies for the production of medicines.
Starting from the new year, points will be awarded for the establishment of the production of medicines and pharmaceutical substances in the country. Products will be considered Russian when a certain number of points are scored. The decision on this will be made by the Ministry of Industry and Trade.
Manufacturers whose products will be recognized as Russian will have access to state support tools.
