A project to create a workshop for deep processing of by-products of reindeer husbandry will be launched in the Nenets Autonomous District. Capital expenditures at the first stage will amount to 400 million rubles. This is stated in the message of the REO.
The workshop will be able to process 1 thousand tons of raw materials and produce 200 tons of finished products per year. Collagen, which is used in pharmaceuticals, the food industry and cosmetology, will be produced from reindeer bones, skins and horns.
The launch of the enterprise meets the goals of the federal project "Closed-loop Economy", which is part of the national project "Environmental Well-being". Currently, there is no mass production of collagen from reindeer husbandry products in Russia, but scientific research confirms its high quality.
