By the end of 2023, the AK&M Rating Agency confirmed the rating of VimpelCom's non—financial reporting at RESG 1, the highest level of disclosure of information about sustainable development in reports.
In accordance with the agency's methodology, VimpelCom's reporting for 2023 received 94.4 points and was assigned to the highest level. This rating is assigned to companies that have received a rating score in the range from 85 to 106.6.
VimpelCom receives the highest rating of non-financial reporting for the third year in a row. The company was one of the first to publish reports in the field of ESG. Beeline has been preparing annual non-financial reports since 2013. The reports on the sustainable development of PJSC VimpelCom are annually certified by an external independent audit and publicly certified by the RSPP.
The company sees its mission in strengthening the technological sovereignty of the country, in contributing to the formation of the digital economy. The report describes in detail actions to comprehensively protect customers from cyberbullying, improve the safety of the urban environment, and promote the development of digitalization in all sectors of the economy. Special attention is paid to digital solutions in the field of healthcare, large-scale assistance provided to the LizaAlert movement to search for missing people, as well as the development of an inclusive digital literacy platform for blind children and adolescents in conjunction with the Everland social entrepreneurship project.
The AK&M rating agency particularly notes the high quality of disclosure of information on personnel policy. VimpelCom is a large employer, the company employs over 25 thousand people. Employee support and decent working conditions are under special control of the company's management, which is reflected in the pages of the report. The report also provides detailed information on training programs and cooperation with training institutions. The company is introducing new employee training formats, such as the "School of Data Engineering" and the "Open Lecture Hall". The report for 2023 is well structured, the materials are arranged in a single logic, and statistical data are presented in dynamics over 2-5 years. The report contains links to most of the internal documents regulating the processes of sustainable development. The document was developed in accordance with the latest version of the international standard for reporting in the field of sustainable development GRI Standards, the requirements of the SASB, as well as taking into account the methodological recommendations of the Ministry of Economic Development, the recommendations of the Bank of Russia on disclosure of non-financial information by companies and basic performance indicators of the RSPP.
Among the agency's recommendations is to expand the volume of disclosed information on the conservation of biodiversity, restoration of flora and fauna.
The rating of non-financial reporting was assigned based on the methodology adopted by the AK&M Rating Agency.
The rating evaluates the completeness of the data presented in the reports. A system of markers for the presence or absence of data is used for evaluation.
The ESG reporting rating has been calculated by the AK&M Rating Agency since 2020. The focus of the research is the completeness of the presentation of information about sustainable development in reports, as well as its accessibility. The study examines 96 markers. The main purpose of the rating is to show the professional community the best practices in disclosing information about the social and environmental activities of companies.
