Alexander Novak approved the creation of a new SEZ in Tatarstan

Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak has approved the creation of a new industrial-production SEZ "Green Valley" on the territory of the Zainsky municipality for the development of a biotechnology cluster. This was reported on the website of the Cabinet of Ministers following a meeting of the interdepartmental working group on the creation and development of special economic zones.

The volume of investments of residents of the new SEZ "Green Valley" by 2034, according to the Tatarstan authorities, will amount to over 15 billion rubles. Among the projects of the SEZ residents are the processing of flax and cotton into bio–fiber, the production of sorbents and fertilizers. Tatneft plans to implement two of the six SEZ projects.

"By the end of 2024, we see a record demand for special zones among businesses, with 230 new residents and 1.2 trillion [rubles] in a year alone.] of the investments made. In the previous record year of 2023, there were 188 new residents and 636 billion [rubles].] investments. Serious pace has been gained, which should not be slowed down," A.
