Almost 76% of gas has been taken from European underground storage facilities

As of January 25, 75.9% or 36.3 billion cubic meters of gas were taken from European underground storage facilities. This is reported by Gazprom with reference to data from Gas Infrastructure Europe.

The volume of active gas in underground storage facilities in Europe is 26.9% (14.9 billion cubic meters) less than last year's level. More than 3/4 of the volume of gas pumped in the summer season has already been selected. The overall level of occupancy of UGS in Europe is 40.9%. The occupancy of underground storage facilities in Germany and France is about 39%.

Since January 11, 2022, the level of reserves in European UGS has moved to the area of record lows for a long period of observations. As of January 25, the reserves are already 2.24 billion cubic meters less than the minimum figure for this date, Gazprom emphasizes.

The occupancy of Ukrainian UGS is also at minimum levels. As of January 25 , it decreased to 11.8 billion cubic meters . This is 45.4% (9.8 billion cubic meters) less than in 2020, and 3.5 billion cubic meters less than at the start date of pumping in April 2021.
