American Blackstone acquires 22% in British AGS Airports

The American investment company Blackstone Inc., through its subsidiary Blackstone Infrastructure Strategies, has entered into an agreement to acquire a 22% minority stake in the British airport management platform AGS Airports from AviAlliance GmbH. This is reported in a press release from Blackstone.

The value of the transaction is 235 million pounds. After the deal closes, AviAlliance will remain the majority shareholder of AGS with a 78% stake.

Blackstone's investments, together with AviAlliance and PSP Investments, are aimed at supporting the continued growth of the travel and tourism industry in the UK.

AGS serves more than 11 million passengers per year and is the owner and operator of three major UK airports — in Glasgow and Aberdeen (Scotland), as well as in Southampton (England). AGS has access to one of the most diversified air carriers in the UK.

Blackstone Infrastructure has extensive experience investing in transportation infrastructure, including through Mundys, the world's largest toll road platform, and airport operator Roma Fiumicino and Ciampino, as well as the private aviation terminal network Signature Aviation and the European toll road platform ASP.

Blackstone Infrastructure is a subsidiary of Blackstone Inc. The company manages assets worth $55 billion and invests in companies with growth potential. Blackstone Infrastructure's portfolio includes QTS (a provider of data centers in the United States), AirTrunk (a data center platform in the Asia-Pacific region), Carrix (an operator of marine terminals in North America), and others. The headquarters is located in New York (USA).

AviAlliance is an airport management company with headquarters in Dusseldorf (Germany). The Company acquires shares in privatized airports and manages them jointly with other shareholders, supporting the operational and economic management of airport holdings.
