American network equipment provider Extreme Networks Inc. is considering the possibility of acquiring Ruckus Networks from CommScope Holding Co. for more than $1 billion. This is reported by foreign media.
Extreme is interested in the deal in order to expand the range of products and services for large companies and federal agencies.
In 2024, CommScope sold its broadband and cable equipment division to Amphenol Corp.for $10.5 billion to repay debt obligations. The remaining assets, including Ruckus and other businesses, will be renamed Vistance Networks starting January 14.
The market value of Extreme is about $2.1 billion, and the value of CommScope is $4.2 billion.
