Andrey Belousov, First Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation, instructed the ministries to speed up development of a mechanism for analyzing prices on global markets to evaluate the possible impact of price movements on the cost of products in Russia, according to a statement by the press service of the Government following the meeting on monitoring prices for food staples.
The meeting participants analyzed data on the consumer inflation in Russia which reached 5.52% in annual terms in April 2021.
According to the Government's data, fruit and vegetable products increased in price by 1% in April. Other food products (except for fruit and vegetable products) advanced in price by 0.7%.
