Russia's Main Department of State Expertise (Glavgosexpertiza of Russia, the state expert appraisal body) has reviewed the design documentation and the results of engineering surveys for reconstruction of the Anzherskaya-Yuzhnaya mine for the development of a new coal layer in the Berezovo-Biryulinskoye coal deposit. A positive opinion was issued as a result of the review, Glavgosexpertiza informed.

The Anzherskaya-Yuzhnaya mine built in Kuzbass in 1999 is engaged in underground coking coal mining within the Berezovo-Biryulinskoye coal deposit. Angerskaya-Yuzhnaya Coal Company LLC is currently licensed for geological survey and production at the five balance-sheet layers of the mine.

The design approved by Glavgosexpertiza of Russia envisages the mine reconstruction with the aim of developing layer XXVII, the design mine capacity being 1.45 million tonnes of coal per year.
