Shares of Black Rock Coffee Bar Inc. rose 38% to $27.53 after raising $294 million in the IPO. This is reported in a press release from Black Rock.

As a result of trading, the market value of the Black Rock Coffee Bar was $1.2 billion. JPMorgan Chase & Co., Jefferies Financial Group Inc., Morgan Stanley and Robert W. Baird & Co. acted as organizers of the Nasdaq stock offering.

Wellington has expressed interest in acquiring shares worth up to $30 million as part of the offering. Black Rock Coffee Bar's investors, who own more than 5% of the shares, include the Cynosure Group and the affiliates of the four co-founders.

Black Rock Coffee is a competitor of Starbucks Corp. and Dutch Bros. Inc. and intends to open 30 stores in Idaho, California, Colorado, Texas and Arizona in 2025 and 1,000 stores by 2030. Despite strong growth, Black Rock Coffee is facing increased costs related to tariffs and inflation. These factors complicate the predictability of the business and may affect the pace of its scaling. Nevertheless, the steady demand for coffee and the popularity of the drive-thru format allow us to count on the company's growth.

Black Rock Coffee Bar includes a chain of drive-thru coffee shops offering hot and cold coffee drinks, as well as energy drinks. The brand's special feature is its local focus and the formation of a community of loyal customers, which makes it possible to successfully compete even with major market players like Starbucks.

The Black Rock Coffee Bar offers a wide selection of specialty drinks and coffee blends, as well as coffee products that can be purchased online. It is headquartered in Beaverton, Oregon, with 158 stores in seven U.S. states.
