The British investment company Bridgepoint Group Plc has entered into an agreement with Preservation Capital Partners to acquire a controlling stake in the German insurance broker Hanseatic Broking Center GmbH (HBC). This is reported in a press release from Bridgepoint.
The financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. The total cost of HBC is estimated at more than 700 million euros ($810 million). The transaction is expected to be completed in the third quarter of 2025, subject to regulatory approval.
As part of the deal, Bridgepoint will partner with a consortium of insurance brokers with significant investments. At the same time, Preservation Capital Partners will completely exit the Hanseatic Brokerage structure.
In May 2025, Bridgepoint negotiated the sale of the assets of the French Kereis to the American investment company Advent. In addition, Bridgepoint returned about 2 billion euros to investors through one of its core funds in June 2025.
Rothschild&Co. Nomura Holdings Inc. and Nomura Holdings Inc. act as financial advisors to Bridgepoint, while Macquarie Capital is a consultant to HBC and Conservation Capital.
