Buryat customs officers prevented the illegal export of 230 million rubles worth of timber from Russia. The Buryat firm planned to export 19 thousand m3 of lumber to China. This is stated in the message of the FCS.
The company acquired a coniferous forest of pine and larch by criminal means. In order to take it out, the attackers concluded fictitious supply contracts with another company.
Customs officers have uncovered a criminal plan. Part of the wood – 179 containers, 7 thousand m3 – was detained at the border. Another 12 thousand m3 operatives found in warehouses.
The Buryat Customs opened criminal cases against the head of the company under part 1 of Article 226.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (smuggling). Additional operational search activities are being carried out jointly with the FSB of Russia.
