Canadian mining company Blue Moon Metals Inc. has entered into an agreement with Teck American Inc. to acquire the assets of the Apex germanium-gallium mine in Utah. This is reported in a press release from Blue Moon.

The deal is in line with Blue Moon's strategy to strengthen its position in the market for the supply of critically important minerals as part of an integrated complex of mining projects in the United States. Blue Moon intends to apply for a share placement on the Nasdaq Capital Market in the first quarter of 2026.

The deal provides for the expansion of cooperation with the main shareholder Hartree Partners LP, which is a partner of the US government in the implementation of a federal project for the supply of essential metals worth $ 12 billion.

Teck American Inc., a subsidiary of Teck Resources Limited, and Blue Moon are partners in implementing joint projects in the United States at Teck Trail Operations processing plants.

By combining the Blue Moon mine in California with processing at the Springer facility in Nevada and zinc concentrate smelting at the Teck Trail facility in Canada, Blue Moon and Teck are creating a fully integrated North American value chain, as Springer is well connected to the transportation and logistics infrastructure to integrate with Teck Trail operations.

Apex is an underground mine in southwestern Utah mining gallium and germanium in the USA. Blue Moon intends to restore the mine after conducting technical research, metallurgical tests and issuing development permits.

Blue Moon is implementing four new polymetallic projects, including the Nussir copper-gold project and the NSG copper, gold, zinc and silver mining project in Norway, as well as copper-gold and tungsten-molybdenum projects in the United States. Zinc, copper, and tungsten are included in the list of metals crucial to the global economy and national security of the United States.

The main shareholders of Blue Moon are funds managed by Oaktree Capital Management, Hartree Partners LP, Wheaton Precious Metals, Altius Minerals Corporation, Baker Steel Resources Trust, LNS and Monial.

Blue Moon Metals Inc. is a Canadian company developing mineral deposits (zinc, gold, silver and copper) in the USA. The headquarters is located in Toronto (Canada).

Teck Resources is a Canadian mining and metallurgical company. It is headquartered in Vancouver, Canada, with manufacturing assets in Canada, the United States, Peru, Chile, and Mexico.
