Rogers Communications Inc. has entered into an agreement with Kilmer Group to acquire the remaining 25% stake in Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment Ltd. (MLSE), becoming the owner of Canada's largest sports company. This is reported in a press release from Rogers.
The value of the transaction is 4.35 billion Canadian dollars ($3.1 billion) with a total MLSE capitalization of 17.4 billion Canadian dollars ($12.2 billion).
As part of the deal, Rogers gains full control over the parent company of the Toronto Raptors basketball club and hockey team. Toronto Maple Leafs.
