Cargo turnover of Russian seaports decreased by 2.3% in 2024%

The cargo turnover of Russian seaports in 2024 amounted to 886.3 million tons, a decrease of 2.3% compared to the previous year. This is stated in the message of the Association of Commercial Seaports.

The volume of transshipment of dry cargo decreased by 1.9% to 441.1 million tons, including coal – by 9.8% to 188.1 million tons, ferrous metals – by 10.8% to 19 million tons, cargo on ferries – by 0.5% to 8 million tons. Grain transshipment increased by 6% to 74.8 million tons, mineral fertilizers – by 15.7% to 42.5 million tons, ore – by 26.3% to 12.3 million tons, cargo in containers – by 10.8% to 55.5 million tons.

Transshipment of bulk cargoes decreased by 2.6% to 445.2 million tons, including crude oil – by 1.7% to 267.5 million tons, petroleum products – by 7.1% to 131.1 million tons. Transshipment of liquefied gas increased by 5.9% to 36.3 million tons, and food cargo by 14% to 6.4 million tons.

699.7 million tons of export cargoes were overloaded, which is 1.9% less than in the previous year. 42.9 million tons (+11%) of imported cargo were overloaded, 64.9 million tons (-0.5%) of transit cargo, and 78.7 million tons (-12.1%) of coastal cargo.
