Cargo turnover of Russian seaports decreased by 7% in January

Cargo turnover of Russian seaports in January 2026 amounted to 66.9 million tons. This is 7% less than in January 2025, according to the website of the Association of Commercial Seaports.

The volume of transshipment of dry cargo decreased by 10.4% to 31 million tons, including ferrous metals – by 20.9% to 1.7 million tons, grain -14.5% to 3.4 million tons, coal – by 11.2% to 13.6 million tons, cargo in containers – by 10.9% to 4.1 million tons. The volume of cargo transshipment on ferries increased by 37.9% to 0.8 million tons.

The volume of bulk cargo transshipment amounted to 35.9 million tons, which is 3.8% less than in the same period of the previous year. Including transshipment of food cargo decreased by 50.5% to 0.3 million tons, petroleum products – by 10.9% to 10.4 million tons. The volume of crude oil transshipment increased by 1.4% to 21.5 million tons, and liquefied gas – by 1.2% to 3.5 million tons.

Transshipment of export cargoes decreased by 5.9% to 54.2 million tons. 3.1 million tons of imported cargo were overloaded (-13.9%), 3.8 million tons of transit cargo (-26.8%), and 5.8 million tons of coastal cargo (+5%).
