Carlsberg Group has agreed with private investors to sell the Russian business. Three sources familiar with the negotiations told Vedomosti about this.
The deal was agreed upon by the government's foreign investment commission, one of the interlocutors claims. The second clarifies that it is planned to close by the end of the year. Two interlocutors say that one of the investors is the president of Baltika, Taimuraz Bolloev.
Recall that on December 2, the President of Russia, by his decree, withdrew "Baltika" from under the temporary management of the Federal Property Management Agency. According to Anna Zabrotskaya, head of the Dispute Resolution practice at the Nordic Star Law Office, referred to by Vedomosti, this document opened up a legal opportunity for the sale or other transactions with the assets of the brewing company. The temporary asset manager has the authority of the owner, but with a significant limitation: he cannot sell this property or transfer it to a third party, the lawyer notes.

Baltika is a brewing company in the Russian Federation. The brand portfolio includes 40 national and regional beer brands and the Flash Up energy drink. Breweries are located in eight Russian cities: Voronezh, Novosibirsk, Rostov-on-Don, Samara, St. Petersburg, Tula, Khabarovsk, Yaroslavl.
In March 2022, Carlsberg Group decided to sell its business in Russia; on July 16, 2023, the President of the Russian Federation signed a decree on the transfer of Carlsberg Group assets in Russia to the temporary management of the Federal Agency for State Property Management (Rosimushchestvo). In accordance with the order of the Federal Property Management Agency, Taimuraz Bolloev has been appointed president of the Baltika Brewing Company since July 17.
The revenue of Baltika Brewing Company LLC in 2023 increased to 109.27 billion rubles from 100.7 billion rubles a year earlier, net loss amounted to more than 28 billion rubles against a profit of 9.95 billion rubles.
