In January-May 2026, 3.25 million loaded and empty TEU containers were transported through the Russian Railways network, which is 1.9% more than in the same period of 2025. This is stated in the company's message.
Shipments in domestic traffic decreased by 3.5% to 1.2 million TEU, in import traffic – increased by 17.5% to 815 thousand TEU, in export traffic – decreased by 2.5% to 737.9 thousand TEU.
The number of loaded containers shipped in all types of transport increased by 4% and amounted to 2.35 million TEU. Including, in import traffic – by 17% to 727.5 thousand TEU; for export – decreased by 1.8% to 701.4 thousand TEU.
Transportation of chemicals and soda increased by 6% to 363.1 thousand TEU, ferrous metals – by 4.5% to 94.1 thousand, grain – by 33.8% to 81.2 thousand, oil and petroleum products – by 14.4% to 42.4 thousand. Transportation of forest goods decreased by 20% to 198.9 thousand TEU, chemical and mineral fertilizers – by 12.9% to 173.4 thousand. A total of 34 million tons of cargo were transported in containers (+0.6%).
In May 2026, 692.2 thousand loaded and empty TEF containers were transported via the Russian Railways network in all types of transport, including domestic, export, import and transit, which is 9.9% more than a year earlier.
JSC "Russian Railways" (TIN 7708503727) was established on October 1, 2003 on the basis of the Ministry of Railways. The state owns 100% of the company's shares.
Russian Railways' RAS net profit for 2025 increased by 1.4% to 14.1 billion rubles from 13.8 billion rubles a year earlier. EBITDA amounted to 984.2 billion rubles with an increase of 16.3%.
Russian Railways' financial expenses in 2025 amounted to 534.1 billion rubles, which is why net profit for 2025 under IFRS decreased to 2.3 billion rubles from 50.7 billion rubles in 2024. Revenue from passenger transportation increased by 13% to RUB 473.1 billion.
