Credit card issuance in Russia decreased by 52.3% in February

1.06 million new credit cards were issued in Russia in February. This is 52.3% less than in the same period of 2024 and 2.1% lower than in January. This is stated in the NBKI report, which notes that the issuance of new credit cards has been decreasing since May 2024.

The volume of limits on credit cards issued in January amounted to 106.3 billion rubles, which is 52.4% less than in the same period of 2024 and 0.6% more than in the previous month.

The largest number of new credit cards in February 2025 were issued in Moscow (86.1 thousand), the Moscow Region (67.5 thousand), the Krasnodar Territory (50.1 thousand), St. Petersburg (46.7 thousand) and Bashkortostan (34.6 thousand).
