The Deposit Insurance Agency will additionally allocate 2.44 billion rubles for settlements with creditors of Mezhtopenergobank. Payments will begin on February 10, 2025, the DIA said in a statement.
Thus, the claims of the creditors of the first stage will be satisfied in the amount of 50.31% of the established amount, which amounts to 22.99 billion rubles.
The increase in the amount of payments was achieved due to the proceeds to the bankruptcy estate of the bank of funds received from the sale of its property, as a result of voluntary repayment of debt by borrowers of the credit institution, as well as in connection with the satisfaction of the claims of all creditors of the debtor of the bank during the bankruptcy of the debtor.
The Central Bank revoked the license from Mezhtopenergobank in July 2017. The Bank invested funds in low-quality assets, including in the construction and investment sectors, and did not adequately assess the credit risks assumed.
