Digital Realty and Equinix intend to acquire Icelandic data center operator atNorth

The American investment company Digital Realty Trust Inc. and a consortium led by Equinix Inc. are among the bidders for the acquisition of the Icelandic data center operator atNorth Holding AB. This is reported by foreign media.

The atNorth Holding asset purchase consortium, controlled by Partners Group, also includes the Canada Pension Plan Investment Board (CPPIB). Partners Group, which acquired atNorth in January 2022, expects to sell the business for 4.5 billion euros ($5.2 billion).

Digital Realty and Equinix own data centers in the Asia-Pacific region, Europe, North and South America and plan to establish a presence in Northern Europe through the acquisition of atNorth. atNorth's clients include BNP Paribas SA, Crusoe, an AI infrastructure operator, and RVX, a visual content studio.

atNorth is an Icelandic data center management company in Iceland, Denmark, Sweden and Finland. The company is a provider of services in the field of colocation, high-performance computing and artificial intelligence. The headquarters is located in Hafnarfjordur (Iceland).
