Dutch state-owned grid operator Tennet Holding BV intends to officially begin the search for investors to sell Tennet Germany, a large high-voltage network in Germany, as part of the privatization. This is reported by foreign media.
The value of Tennet Germany's assets is estimated at 11 billion euros ($12 billion), or 27 billion euros, including debt obligations.
Tennet Holding is asking banks to send proposals by March 25 and at the same time is considering the possibility of raising capital on public capital markets as an alternative option. Potential bidders will obviously have to form consortia to acquire Tennet Germany.
After an unsuccessful attempt to sell German grid assets to the German government in 2024, Tennet held preliminary talks with 30 potential investors, including infrastructure funds and sovereign wealth funds, to find an acceptable solution.
Tennet Holding is an electricity transmission system operator in the Netherlands and in a significant part of Germany. The headquarters is located in Arnhem (the Netherlands).
