Exports of sausage products from Russia increased by 26% in 2020

In January-December 2020, Russia exported 45 kt of sausage products to foreign markets, which is 30% above the 2019 result. In value terms, shipments increased by 26% to $93 million, according to a statement by the Ministry of Agriculture's AgroExport Center for Development of Agricultural Exports.

The former USSR countries traditionally took the lead among the importers. Kazakhstan ranks first as it increased purchases by 22% year-on-year to 33 kt for a total amount of $63 million (+21%), followed by Ukraine (+54% to 5.8 thousand tonnes in physical terms, +43% to $14 million in money terms) and Azerbaijan (+43% to 3.6 thousand tonnes, +26% to $8.6 million).

Despite the pandemic, Abi (managing a portfolio of brands, including Vyazanka, Starodvorye, Yadrena Kopot, etc.), increased exports of sausage products to Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan and Abkhazia in 2020 and entered the market of Uzbekistan. Boiled sausages are among the most popular products.

Cherkizovo Group (developing Cherkizovo, Imperia Vkusa, Myasnaya Gubernia, Pava-Pava and other brands) increased exports of sausage products by 25% to 5.2 kt last year.
