The next strike in the Finnish bakery sector began on March 31, 2025. This is reported by foreign media.
The strike involving 2,000 employees will affect the work of 150 bakeries of major Finnish manufacturers, including Fazer, Lantmännen and Vaasan.
The strike was initiated by the SEL food industry workers' union amid unsuccessful negotiations with employers to conclude new collective agreements in the industry, which cover a total of 25,000 employees.
The previous strike lasted for six days from March 11 to March 16 and led to problems with the supply of bakery products to stores.
Trade unions are also negotiating contracts with employees in the dairy, meat and brewing industries.
