The Avangard Hockey Club Association, which owned 80% of Avangard Hockey Club LLC, transferred 6.76% of the club to Gazprom Neft PJSC. Thus, the oil company received a blocking stake of 26.76%.

Gazprom Neft is a long-time partner and sponsor of the Omsk Hockey Club. In June 2022, the company bought a 20% stake in the club.
